Hardwick, MA

A beaver pond in Hardwick, MA provides for a variety of wildlife. Note the bird nest on top of the dead tree on the left. This used to be a red maple swamp but beavers have created this new wildlife habitat.
However some people think there are now too many beavers in Massachusetts as their activity has flooded roads and submerged some good timber producing areas.
